Travel and Entrepreneurship
This episode explores the parallels between two of my favorite things: Seeing the world and building a business. I recorded it after a three-week family vacation to England and Sweden, one of many trips we’ve taken over the years. Travel is a big part of my identity, and I absolutely love it for its own sake. That said, I’m struck by how many aspects of it actually help me be a more effective, resilient founder.
There’s something about packing up my things, heading to an airport, and sitting down with a book or journal on a plane, train, or automobile that really gets my creativity flowing. In fact, I’ve found that the inspiration I feel on the road helps me get past limiting beliefs and blocks that may be affecting my work. Imaginative thinking isn’t the only aspect of travel that supports me as an entrepreneur. I share how dealing with the unexpected cultivates resilience, why I love a balance between being grounded and expanded, and more.
