The days of posting a job on a job board and praying that good talent will apply, are long gone. It’s naive of us to think the right candidates are going to somehow find our job posting amongst the thousands of others posted on the same site.

As someone who has been in HR for over 15 years, I have seen a shift in the hiring process. There may be record-high numbers of Americans seeking new work opportunities, but that doesn’t mean job-seekers are desperate. Now more than ever, employees want employers to acknowledge their humanity. They want to be treated like a person—not a number in a pile of resumes.
